Free Printable Please Take One Halloween Sign

Are you ready to celebrate Halloween but don't want to be bothered with answering the door all night? Look no further! We have the perfect solution for you – a free printable “please take one” sign that you can place outside by your candy bowl. Whether you're planning to be out at a party, trick-or-treating with your kids, or just enjoying a cozy night at home, this sign is a great way to ensure that all the neighborhood kids can still get their candy, even if you're not available to greet them personally.

The Halloween Version of Mr. Scrooge?

Now, I won't go so far as to call myself the Halloween version of Mr. Scrooge, but let's just say I prefer a more low-key approach to the holiday. While I do enjoy trick-or-treating with my kids and indulging in some of their candy (before they notice, of course), I'm not one to go all out with costumes and decorations. In fact, I'd much rather cozy up in my pajamas, turn off the lights, and make it seem like no one's home. I guess you could say I value peace and quiet on Halloween night!

The Perfect Solution for Busy or Low-Key Halloween Celebrations

Living in an area that doesn't attract many trick-or-treaters, I found myself wanting a convenient way to participate in the Halloween spirit without the hassle. That's where this free printable sign comes in handy. Not only is it ideal for those who will be away from home or prefer a quiet night in, but it's also great for anyone planning a late-night Target run or attending a Halloween party.

How to Use the Sign

Simply print out the sign on standard paper or cardstock and you're ready to go! The sign features the words “Please take one, just to be fair. Or maybe two… if you dare!” I must admit, it took me quite some time to come up with a cute saying that actually rhymed. Maybe I should write a blog post with all the rejected ideas! But trust me, this saying is sure to bring a smile to the faces of trick-or-treaters.

Once printed, you can trim the bottom of the page to create an 8.5x5x5 inch sign. You can either tape the sign to an area near your candy bowl or even directly onto the bowl itself. For an extra touch, you can attach the sign to a popsicle stick, a wooden paint stick, or an old ruler and place it inside your candy bowl. Get creative and have fun with it!

Favorite Printable Supplies

If you enjoy printable games and activities as much as we do, here are a few of our favorite supplies:

  • White Cardstock: For the best quality print, we recommend using white cardstock instead of regular printer paper. It's more durable and ensures a higher quality result.
  • Crayons: A must-have in any crafting household. Crayola is always the top-notch choice!
  • Kid-Friendly Safety Scissors: Perfect for little ones learning how to use scissors. They cut paper, but not fingers or hair!
  • Glue Sticks: Our favorite is the disappearing purple glue stick. It's great to buy them in bulk as we use them often!
  • Lamination Machine: If you want your printable games to last longer and be reusable, laminating is the way to go. Don't forget to grab some dry erase markers as well!
  • Dry Erase Pockets: An alternative to using a lamination machine for making printable games and activities reusable.
  • Printer: A high-quality printer is essential for achieving the best results. If you're in need of a printer, we recommend the Brother Wireless Printer.
