Are you looking for a simple and creative Christmas craft that your kids will love? Look no further! In this article, we'll show you how to make adorable Christmas trees using cardboard and our free template. Plus, we'll provide you with step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow.
Upcycle and Express Your Creativity
One of the best things about this craft is that you can upcycle those cardboard boxes from your holiday shopping deliveries. Instead of throwing them away, you can transform them into beautiful Christmas decorations or ornaments. It's a great way to reduce waste while adding a personal touch to your holiday decor.
Materials Required
Before we dive into the craft, let's take a quick look at the materials you'll need:
- Cardboard (from old boxes or any spare pieces)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Ribbon
- Pencil
- Hole punch
Step 1: Download and Print the Bow Tie Christmas Tree Template
To get started, download and print our free Christmas tree template. You can find the download link by signing up on our website (Shill Art – Express Your Creativity). Once you have the template ready, you're all set to begin the crafting fun!
Step 2: Making the Cardboard Christmas Tree
Now that you have the template, it's time to bring your cardboard Christmas trees to life. Follow these simple steps:
- Cut out the tree shapes from the template.
- Take a piece of cardboard and apply glue to the backside of the tree. Stick it firmly onto the cardboard piece.
- Carefully cut around the shape of the Christmas tree.
- Create holes on the tree by drawing 10 dots using a pencil. Make sure there are 5 rows of dots with 2 dots on each row.
- Using a hole punch, make 10 holes as shown in the picture provided.
Step 3: Threading the Ribbon to Make the Bow
Let's move on to the fun part – creating the bow for your Christmas tree. Follow these simple instructions:
- Begin by threading the two ends of the ribbon through the first two holes. Insert the ends from the back to the front.
- Next, thread the left ribbon end through the second hole on the right side.
- Follow the same criss-cross pattern by threading the right end of the ribbon through the second hole on the left side.
- Continue threading the ribbon through the holes, creating a beautiful criss-cross pattern.
- Finally, bring both ends of the ribbon to the front by inserting them through the last two sets of holes. Tie a bow, and your Christmas tree is ready!
