Materials Required:
Before we begin, gather the following materials, most of which you probably already have at home:
- Origami paper OR Construction paper (size: 15 cm * 15 cm)
- Cotton
- Scissors
- Glue
- Black paper (for eyes)
- Cotton twine OR any string for hanging
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Making the Santa Claus Cap
- Take the square sheet and fold it diagonally from opposite corners to form a triangle.
- Fold the left vertex to meet the top vertex, and then repeat with the right vertex. Make creases.
- Unfold the last two folds, which will reveal the triangle again and two flaps created by the creases.
- Fold the right flap along the crease made in the previous step, and fold the left flap along the left side's crease as well.
- Now, fold the right side towards the center, ensuring the right vertex of the triangle meets the top vertex.
- Next, fold the left flap towards the center.
- Before folding the left flap, apply glue to the center as shown in the top left picture above.
- Stick it in place and cut out the top portion.
- Apply glue inside the cone.
- Stick a cotton ball inside the cone to create Santa's cap.
Adding Santa's Face:
- Apply glue as two dots to stick Santa's eyes. You can make tiny eyes using black paper and stick them on.
Hanging the Ornament:
To hang the ornament, we need to tie a string.
- Punch a hole on the top of Santa's cap.
- Attach a string through the hole for hanging.
Aaand it's done! Your Santa Claus ornament is now ready to spread some Christmas cheer on your tree!
